The Hearth and Grill Shop Backyard challenge this past Saturday enjoyed great weather with a record 19 contestants competing for Cash and Prizes. Winners competed in the categories of Chicken, Ribs and Desserts, with 3 place finishers. We had a record 9 contestants using the Big Green Egg to grill and smoke their chicken and ribs. Contestants got started grilling at 8am with everyone making the 1:30pm deadline for the Hearth and Grill judges to enjoy the sampling of what each team presented. We were happy to have representatives from Fire Magic Gas Grills and Broilmaster Gas Grills grilling and answering the many questions of visitors to our 5th Annual Hearth and Grill Shop Backyard Challenge. Fire Magic and Broilmaster cooked up some great food to taste.
Nashville’s own Charlie Neese and his Camera man from Channel 5 showed up bright and early to do several segments from our Gas Grill and Charcoal cook off. We could all tell Charlie and his camera man wanted to stay and sample some of the grilled and smoked chicken and ribs coming off the grills.
